Survivor 47' Auction Returns, but One Player's Torch Is Snuffed—Who Was Voted Out This Week?

This week, a classic element from "Survivor" made a comeback for the contestants of Season 47: the "Survivor" auction.

As with many aspects of the new era of this long-running reality competition on CBS, the auction featured a twist.

Tubes containing varying amounts of money were hidden throughout the camp on the island where the players reside, and they had to race to find them.

During the auction, host Jeff Probst drew a hidden number from a bag to determine how many items would be presented, and the player with the most money remaining would lose their vote at tribal council.

The auction episode, titled "He's All That," featured items such as macaroni and cheese, French fries with a hidden advantage, chicken wings, and a grub-eating contest for a chance to win a breakfast spread.

As is customary in every "Survivor" episode, a player was ultimately voted out and sent home.

Here's Who Was Voted Out In "Survivor" Season 47, Episode 8.

Who Went Home On 'survivor' Season 47, Episode 7?

Sam Phalen entered the individual immunity challenge without a vote after being the player with the most money left at the end of the auction.

Before the challenge, which required players to hold a bucket containing 25% of their pregame body weight on a rope, host Jeff Probst announced that one man and one woman would earn individual immunity necklaces, leaving the other nine players at risk of being voted out.

For the third consecutive episode, Kyle Ostwald emerged victorious for the men, while Sue Smey, the oldest contestant this season, won for the women.

Players from various alliances debated who to vote out, including former Gata tribe member Andy Rueda, who turned on Phalen and Sierra Wright to join the majority.

At tribal council, another former Gata tribe member, Rachel LaMont, played her shot in the dark (sacrificing her vote for a chance at immunity, which she did not receive), resulting in a tie between Phalen and Wright for elimination.

During a revote, a majority of players chose to vote out Wright, making her the first member of the Season 47 jury, which will eventually decide on the winner.

Who went home last week on 'Survivor'?

During the immunity and reward challenge, contestants were divided into two groups, with Probst telling players that only one of the teams would be safe.

The last player remaining would win immunity for their group, while the other group would visit tribal council and vote someone out.

The yellow group emerged victorious in the challenge and included: Sol Yi, Sam Phalen, Andy Rueda, Teeny Chirichillo, and Genevieve Mushaluk.

The blue group, which faced defeat, comprised: Sue Smey, Rachel LaMont, Gabe Ortis, Caroline Vidmar, Tiyana Hallums, and Kyle Ostwald.

Notably, Ostwald secured individual immunity, ensuring his safety in the game. As the two groups were divided, the blue team prepared to cast their votes at tribal council.

During the reward, Yi discovered an advantage hidden near the food, which enabled him to pass it to a player in the voting group.

He chose to send the advantage, granting safety without the need to vote, to LaMont, the only player in the group not affiliated with the former Lavo tribe and a clear target.

This development threw the tribal council into chaos as the remaining players scrambled to decide who to eliminate. In the end, a majority cast their votes for Tiyana Hallums, a 27-year-old flight attendant from Oahu, Hawaii.
